After many wonderful years calling Magnetic Island home and exploring the stunning waters of the Palm Island group, I’m excited to share that our retreats will be relocating to the Keppel Islands from 2027.
Our yacht’s new home base will be Yeppoon, opening the door to a beautiful new cruising ground amongst the islands of the Southern Great Barrier Reef.
This decision feels like a natural next chapter.
As a sailor, I’m always drawn to new horizons. Over the past few years I’ve spent time exploring the Capricorn Coast and the Keppel Islands and have fallen completely in love with the area. There is something special about these islands. They feel relaxed, unhurried and wonderfully connected to nature.
The Keppels have a different energy to many of Queensland’s better-known island destinations.
They’re quieter.
Less commercial.
A little more wild.
The water is crystal clear, the beaches are spectacular, and many days it feels as though you have entire bays to yourself.
One of my favourite things about the Keppels is the variety. We can spend the morning snorkelling over coral gardens, enjoy lunch anchored off a white sandy beach, then watch the sun sink behind rugged island hills with not another boat in sight.
Great Keppel Island alone boasts more than a dozen beautiful beaches to explore. Shelving Beach is renowned for its snorkelling and clear water, while Long Beach seems made for slow walks, reflection and meaningful conversation. North Keppel Island feels almost untouched in places, with walking trails, abundant birdlife and thriving reef systems just offshore.
As a retreat facilitator, I am always looking for places that help people exhale.
Places where the nervous system can settle.
Places where women can remember what it feels like to wake with the sunrise, move their bodies, swim in the ocean, share meaningful conversations and spend a few days free from the constant demands of modern life.
The Keppels offer exactly that.
My retreats will continue to blend sailing, yoga, somatic practices, embodiment work, connection, laughter and plenty of time in nature. The setting will be new, but the heart of the experience remains the same.
Small groups.
Beautiful anchorages.
Sunrises from the deck.
Salt in your hair.
And the opportunity to reconnect with yourself in a way that’s often difficult on land.
I’m already exploring new itineraries and discovering hidden corners of these beautiful islands that I can’t wait to share with future guests.
The Palm Islands will always hold a special place in my heart, but I have a feeling the Keppels are going to surprise a lot of people.
They certainly surprised me.
I can’t wait to share them with you.
